Application process now open for the 2017 Dublin City University “Effective Management in Homeless Services” Module
Applications are now being invited for the 2017 “Effective Management in Homeless Services” three month Dublin City University accredited and DRHE recommended best practice module.
This training module will enable participating managers in homeless sector services to enhance their management/ leadership practice and develop their expertise in operational supervision/support of staff engaged in assessment and support planning interventions.
The module is delivered through a mixture of lectures, workshops and seminars over three two day blocks (6 days in total), facilitated by tutors from the Chartered Institute of Housing and DCU’s School of Nursing and Human Sciences. The module is informed by the work practice contexts of managers undertaking the module.
This module is currently the only homeless specific, third level managers training module available in Ireland and is accredited at Level 8 with 10 credits on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework of Qualifications. The module will encompass the following areas:

Caring for Self/Caring for Staff.

Operational Supervision and Project Management.

Strategic Management and Socio-Political Contexts.
The dates for the course are as follows:

Orientation: (Monday) 6th February 2017 (9.30am – 1.00pm).

Block 1: Caring for Self/Caring for Staff (Monday and Tuesday) 13th and 14th February 2017 (9am – 5pm).

Block 2: Operational Supervision and Project Management (Monday and Tuesday) 20th and 21st March 2017 (9am – 5pm).

Block 3: Strategic Management and Socio-Political Contexts (Monday and Tuesday) 24th and 25th April 2017 (9am – 5pm).
Staff working in DRHE funded services will be eligible for funding support towards the course fees. Please note that only managers currently working in homeless (or related sector) services will be eligible to apply.
CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS IS 5PM ON FRIDAY 2nd DECEMBER 2016.
